Appointment Accompaniment
This service is for everyone, not just birth clients, and can be flexibly utilized to best fit your needs. Whether you’re juggling work schedules with your spouse but would like a member of your birth team attending appointments with you, facing a diagnosis you’d like extra support navigating, simply don’t want to attend appointments alone, or new to the area in need of qualified and friendly pregnancy support, this is for you!
There is no contract necessary with this service. Booking can be done by clicking the “Let’s Connect” tab at the top right. Let me know when you would like accompaniment by filling out the simple form.
I request reservations for appointments be made 3 weeks in advance of the date of the appointment. If you need to reschedule or are interested in booking this service for a prenatal appointment in less than 3 weeks, please still reach out as I will do my best to accommodate. Before each appointment you’d like me to attend with you, we will schedule a phone call to discuss the objective of your upcoming appointment, your questions and concerns, as well as doctor communication. The fee for each appointment accompaniment is $65 due the day before each appointment. This is fully refundable if I am unable to attend while at a birth.
Each mama is responsible for checking with their care provider/practice on their allowance for birth companions (other than the father) to join their patients during different appointments (as some appointment objectives may follow different protocols for partners).
Frequently Asked
When do I hire my doula?
You can hire your doula as soon as you find out you’re pregnant to ensure your estimated due date is available for their scheduling. Hiring at the beginning of pregnancy also gives you full pregnancy support benefits.
What do your services look like?
As a Certified Labor Doula, I provide radical advocacy as well as physical, emotional and informational support to mamas and their husbands and birth companions throughout pregnancy, birth and initiating their newborn care plan. Prenatally, I assist families in acquiring information about all their options and serve as their primary emotional support with unlimited phone/email contact and two in-person prenatal meetings. During labor, I provide continuous emotional support, assist with comfort measures, guide husbands & families through their supportive roles, and encourage self advocacy by holding space for your predetermined choices.
I remain with families one - two hours after birth to ensure they are settled and ready for bonding time alone. When needed, I assist with initial breastfeeding. Between 2 - 5 weeks postpartum, I schedule our followup visit together. These visits include initiation to Core Recovery and allow you to discuss your birth, ask me any questions about it, your postpartum healing, or your baby. This time is intended for me to assist with any personal or household needs such as preparing a site bath or washing dishes. I appreciate and enjoy your honest feedback, and of course, admiring your baby.
What do you charge? Can I do a payment plan?
My birth doula fee is $1,100 for planned hospital births and $900 for planned home births.
Virtual doula services are $500.
Yes! I offer three payment options for birth doula services.
They are listed in detail in the contract we sign together.
Will you serve at home births?
Absolutely! As your home birth doula, I can support your midwife assisted birth in the comfort of your home with as many birth team and family members as you desire. I enjoying helping your other young children understand the birth process and guide them in supporting their mama when that is the family’s birth vision.
What areas do you serve?
My range of service is the East Central Alabama area. I primarily serve Birmingham in Jefferson County, St. Clair, Etowah, Calhoun, Talladega, parts of Shelby and Clay counties, and surrounding areas. If you are in or around these areas, I can serve you! If you aren’t, please reach out anyway so we can collaborate on the best options for you.
How did you get your business name?
In 2018, I began my independent personal training business. I named it “Amaze Yourself” rooted in a firm belief that with or without me, my clients are intrinsically capable of accomplishing their fitness goals. I couldn’t part from the name, hoping to express my unwavering belief that pregnant mamas are not only fully physically equipped to birth their babies, but also the only person who is maternally intuitive to make the best decision for her own body, her birth, and her baby. I’m thrilled to incorporate fitness into my doula & fitness client’s pregnancy and recovery experiences.
